Scott A. MacDiarmid, MD, FRCPSC

Dr MacDiarmid is director of the Alliance Urology Specialists Bladder Control and Pelvic Pain Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.  He is a Clinical Professor of Urology in the Department of Urology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He is Co-coordinating Principal Investigator for the Viveve PURSUIT Trial.

Dr. MacDiarmid received his medical degree from the School of Medicine, Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.  He completed fellowships in reconstructive urology and urodynamics at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC; the University of Otago in Christchurch, New Zealand; and the University of Sheffield in England.

Dr MacDiarmid’s clinical, educational, and academic expertise is in male and female voiding dysfunction, neurogenic bladder, and complex lower urinary tract and pelvic floor reconstruction and he has lectured extensively on these topics throughout the United States and abroad. He has authored or co-authored numerous books, book chapters and journal articles, and is recognized internationally as a leader in his field. Dr. MacDiarmid has been instrumental both clinically and academically in advancing the field of neuromodulation in the treatment of overactive bladder.
